The camera-assisted alignment and cloud design library are its biggest strengths: you send a file, and the machine positions it on your material without manual focus. For quality control, that means fewer setup variables between jobs. It does not cut thick metal or weld, but nobody should expect that from a 20W craft laser. If your work involves wood, acrylic, leather, paper, or coated metal blanks, the Aura sits in a practical sweet spot.

What Is the Glowforge Aura Wattage?

The official Glowforge Aura wattage is 20W from a sealed CO2 tube, according to Glowforge’s current spec sheet (January 2025; verify specs on glowforge.com). That puts it below industrial 40W–60W systems, but it’s enough for the craft and light production jobs it’s designed for—cutting thin wood and acrylic, engraving many materials, and marking coated metal. Can the Glowforge Aura Handle Laser Engraving Brass Plates?
